Maize milling and feed mill (maize flour, animal feed, fortified products). High domestic and regional demand. Demand for fortified and processed maize is rising. - Storage Infrastructure
Grain silos or warehouses with drying and fumigation capabilities and with cold and dry storage for seeds and processed products. - Aggregation Hub
Set up an aggregation and quality testing center near farmers. We have trained our staff in Aflatoxin Detection, Testing & Control, Grain Sampling, Testing and Grading & Warehouse Operations and Management. The broader idea is to help farmers meet quality grain standards through the utilization of a common user facility. - Mechanization.
Production is still dominated by smallholder farmers who mostly till one to five acres. Approximately 90% of the ploughing depends on human labor, about 8% on livestock (oxen) and only 2% depends on machines (tractors). There is therefore need to scale up mechanization for enhanced productivity because of the available agricultural land. - Grain Market Research
This is crucial because it empowers farmers and businesses to make informed decisions about production, pricing and distribution, leading to increased profitability, optimized resources use, reduced risks and enhanced competitiveness in the face of market demand and changing conditions. This research helps identify profitable crops varieties, understand consumer preferences for quality and specific grain attributes.
